'The Carnoustie Ogilvies'

Welcome to the website for 'THE CARNOUSTIE OGILVIES'.

Alexander Ogilvie & Jean Guild lived in the Parish of Monikie and had 5 children.

Their 2 elder sons, James & John, settled in the neighbouring Parish of Barry around 1800 in the area which would eventually become the town of CARNOUSTIE.

Thus begins the story of 'THE CARNOUSTIE OGILVIES'.

Many branches have moved away to various places including Arbroath, Brechin, Broughty Ferry, Dundee, Kirriemuir, Monifieth, Montrose, Perth and also further afield to America, Australia, Canada and England. Research has, however, mainly been restricted to those descendants who remained in the immediate vicinity of Carnoustie.

Many hours have been spent in research and I have had a great deal of fun and satisfaction doing so.
